How To Install Ruggable Rug
A footling over a calendar month ago now, G and I FINALLY bought a carpeting. We have been in our new business firm since May, and we had spent about 6 months of that time rug-less in our living room. Mostly because it didn't seem as high upwardly on the priority listing as other big items for our house, merely also because we just couldn't find one we liked.
My mom is a bit of collector of antiquarian, Western farsi rugs, then I naturally tend to like the look/pattern of them; notwithstanding, I tend to gravitate towards less of the bright, rust/ruby-red/orange rugs, and more than of the earth tones, neutrals, and whites.
The challenge in this is finding a carpeting like this that isn't $600+. I had looked on Etsy, eBay, you name it, and I could not find a reasonably priced rug that I liked. There were a few that I plant on Amazon that were nether $150 for an 8×x, but the reviews were sometimes mixed, and I just wasn't 100% in love with them.
Here's where my dilemma arose: G and I have a dog who loves to run around our backyard that is full of red clay, we drink a lot of coffee in our living room (that often gets knocked over), and I like to enjoy a good glass of cerise wine (and I'm also incredibly impuissant). I had a gut feeling that if we bought the vintage carpet of our dreams, our lifestyle would find a way to immediately destroy it. Non to mention that getting Persian rugs professionally cleaned costs quite a bit.
Information technology felt similar the culling would exist to buy an "inexpensive" carpeting and using our SpotBot Pet vacuum cleaner (amazing purchase BTW) whenever we had a mishap. But spot cleaning only goes so far, and for being a high traffic expanse, it would probably need to be deep cleaned ofttimes or merely completely replaced every couple years. Which withal did non feel like the most cost constructive option.
THEN , because my phone was probably tracking my extensive search history for rugs, the Instagram ads began.
I was pretty much daily getting Instagram ads for a company chosen Ruggable, who marketed themselves as creating a ~*~revolutionary~*~ washable rug. The rugs they ever advertised seemed to be in the color scheme I was craving, and in a similar design to what I wanted.
I read a lot of reviews and toiled for over a month about which rug I wanted, until I finally settled on the Sima Sage rug in an 8 x ten. An eight 10 10 will set you back nearly $399, but go along your middle out for coupon codes because I got a 20% off coupon before I bought, which definitely helped! (I used the FREE Honey browser extension to find the twenty% off coupon code– you can download it for free here! Plus using my link, you'll receive 500 points on your beginning buy that yous use Honey with, which is equal to $5).
Runners run virtually $130-190 depending on the length which isn't HORRIBLE, especially if you get a coupon lawmaking. While we were definitely putting out a bit more than some of the cheap options we constitute on Amazon, I kept reminding myself that this was more of an investment since it was washable and would not be absolutely destroyed if I spilled my wine on it 😉
The Look
I could not be happier with the way this carpet looks. It doesn't have much rise/pile to it (which is perfect), merely information technology is all the same very comfortable underneath the anxiety. It apparently is not a handwoven vintage rug, only despite it beingness printed on, information technology doesn't await cheap or anything. The colors and pattern are beautiful and I think information technology ties our living room together.
Initial Set-Upward
When the rug finally arrived at our house, I was actually at work for the night, so Garrett did the initial set-up. He claimed information technology was super uncomplicated. I later learned that was an exaggeration/lie— only more than on that later.
The carpet comes in two parts. Essentially a non-stick pad with Velcro on elevation and then the rug.

Cleaning

Fortunately/Unfortunately, we got to test this office out twice within the start 2 weeks of owning our rug. After we had the rug for a week, our domestic dog randomly got ill with diarrhea and lucky for us, instead of going our waterproof vinyl floors, she decided to focus her attention on our rug! It made u.s. instantly thankful that we had chosen a washable rug, only and then meantime we became anxious almost information technology actually working! We picked as much solid debris off of the carpet as we could. I then threw iii Tide pods and a scoop of Oxi Clean into the washer. We used the heavy setting, prepare information technology on tap common cold, and let it fill up for similar 5 minutes before nosotros threw in the carpeting. We have an old school washer and dryer, and not a front end loader, then I was honestly so worried that our carpeting might not fit with the spinner piece in the centre. But it fit merely fine! And all of the stains came right out.
Nosotros threw information technology in the dryer with some wool balls to help it dry more effectively, and to be honest, we still had to run it through two dry cycles for it to get totally dry.
Re-Assembly
Assembly is my biggest gripe with the production so far, as I think it is a lot harder to assemble than they want to make it seem. I can run across it being VERY easy if yous accept a smaller carpet or a runner, just the 8×10 is a piffling trickier. There is not a huge amount of rug that extends past the border of the pad underneath, and this is for adept reason, so that information technology doesn't get tripped on. But this makes assembling difficult. You have to line it up just right, and even when you think you've accomplished that, y'all still will probably have to offset over and retry a couple more than times. When yous have the larger rug and you're attempting to get together it, it is definitely easier with a partner. What we constitute was easiest was standing at corners diagonal of one another and lining up our respective edges earlier unfolding the rest of the rug and smoothing out the wrinkles. There's probably an easier manner though, and so if you know the secret Let ME KNOW!
The Verdict
So after having the rug for a calendar month, would I practice it all over again? Absolutely. Information technology washes similar a dream, and despite the tiresome assembly process, information technology'southward better than having to pay to have your rug professionally cleaned or having to buy to replace your carpeting altogether.
Literally within 24 hours of usa having to launder the rug afterwards our dog's blow, we had to wash it again because our friend's dog threw upward on information technology 😂 Was it then annoying going through the whole process again? Kind of, just boy were we relieved that we decided to go a washable carpeting! It only makes the most sense for our lifestyle. Plus, can you imagine how handy that will be when nosotros accept kids one twenty-four hour period?!

Friendly reminder: I was NOT paid or gifted by Ruggable in any way— I paid for this production 100% myself and I was not asked by them to write a review. I merely decided to write a review because I genuinely like the product! I will receive a small committee if y'all determine to buy through my links though, which helps support my blog 🙂
